there should be the controller. now just rightklick and choose properties. in the new window klick on "driver" and there should be the information on the driver you use.

The more I think about it, but I'm not sure because this is a while ago when I got my XBox Controller, maybe I didn't installed any driver at all, I also don't find any software, when I search c: for "xbox" I get no result.
In the "Geräte-Manager" I find in the properties of "Xbox 360 Controller for Windows":

the program needs to be selected to work, could you change it so it can be minimized?

You can run it minimized with a batch file:

The 180 are the seconds till autoexit. This method screws up the window size once it get reopend, so it's a dirty method, unpacking the download again should solve it and makes it work like usual.
