The body will relax after the corset is removed, and return more or less to the initial shape.
However, for those who have practiced several years of tightlacing, which radically changes the shape of the ribs, even displaces internal organs (don't worry, it's harmless - pregnancy does more in less time - the body is squishy for a reason), it could take some time before all the effects are completely reversed, but I would guess that it's about a week to a month and much of the changes are undone. That's why those with really small waists and want to keep it that way cannot afford to go for even short periods without a corset.
If you see a tiny waist, tell yourself that there are several years of slow, patient squeezing and pulling of laces, and several corsets of successively decreasing girth as the body adapts to the constriction.
