Rope Type

I am on a roll tonight. In the past I have used leather. Due to a variety of circumstances I no longer have my leather cuffs. So I went to my local box store and looked for some rope. If you read my other post, SB is my main option. I have not done any rope shopping in a long long time. What I found is mostly synthetic materials. I guess I expected the good ole cotten rope. Am I behind the times? I have been used to cotton or "natural" fibers. (Aaaah the 70s.)

Anyone have any opinions?

I use quite a lot of nylon climbing rope of between 6 and 8mm, but I take the core out of the rope to make it more flexible. It's not the easiest job in the world, but it makes a noticeable difference.
