Valentine's day always passes much unnoticed in our house, but not in a sad way we just refuse to be told by people with a commercial interest at heart who hijacked an out of date religious festival as a means to relieve us of our cash when we should show our affection for each other. This we do whenever we want to so we have many "valentine" days throughout the year.

But I will remember this 14th Feb for a long time as I happened to answer the phone to my mother-in-law while my wife was out and was told the sorry tale my her of how she dressed all sexy and willing for her husband but nothing was to happen. Ok, I applaud her for still being willing at seven-nine and making the effort, even if it was wasted on her husband who prefers football (soccer). I don't know some people, I mean if you are handed it on a plate, it is only polite to have a nibble.

I'd send her a wand as a belated "valentine" gift but I think she may already have one.
