i want the coroner to prove there has been anyone killed by this virus.
there have been no autopsies showing this.
they will only gibe the symptoms that the virus MIGHT have caused.
these same people could have got the symptoms from other causes'

Does anyone else sense any lack of transparency? I think it's more about number fudging to enforce compliance and initiate action.
The least I can say is that in my state, I have known people who got hit hard, and wouldn't go through it again for any $$ amount.

and what pre existing conditions did they have before the virus?

None of the most popular ones. No apparent health problems.

Pretty sure tiemeupalso was following up on their own message ;)

In NYC, which is a pretty good test bed, an observational study published in JAMA of 5,700 patients admitted to several hospitals with the COVID found 94% to have at least one serious underlying condition, and 88% had at least two. Nearly 60 percent of those hospitalized had high blood pressure, 40 percent were obese, and about one-third had diabetes. Smaller numbers of patients suffered from other chronic illnesses, such as heart disease, kidney disease and chronic respiratory illnesses.

Now with the covit 19 pandemic being every where, self isolation is highly recomended. What better way but to chill this way? Now if someone were to lock
a skirt on me then lock the shackles and take the keys away then I would have to stay self isolated. I can't have anyone see me like this. I would have to hire
someone to run arrands for me.
I see (or don't see) one of our regulars hasn't been here in a just over a week. For once, hoping they are stuck in bondage, under the care of someone, then to dare think out loud what I am thinking.

It's pointless raising concerns like this. Not all of us visit on any kind of timescale. For example,as a Moderator I check here pretty much every day, If I am using my laptop I will possibly bother to log in, if I am at work, using a tablet etc which don't have any log-in details stored, then I usually just read the "active topics" to see if there is anything I should act upon, then leave. So I could easily be your missing regular.

Of course if you don't log in you don't get any "where are you?" PMs either.

Very large study of hydroxychloroquine as a COVID prophylactic in Vadodara, India finds significant benefit. 340,000 people were in close contact (cohabiting family members, health care workers, etc) with infected parties and on various courses of HCQ... 1, 2, or 3 weeks. Across the entire group, not one complaint of complications. These groups were sampled as follows:

1 week course of HCQ, 48,873 people sampled
102 infections (0.21%)
12 deaths (0.025%)

2 week course of HCQ, 17,776 people
48 infections (0.27%)
1 death (0.006%)

3 week course of HCQ, 33,563 people
43 infections (0.13%)
1 death (0.003%)

Yet nearly all of the western media mobilized against hydroxychloroquine because Trump. How many deaths could be attributed to the anti-HCQ drama?

The same for me. Almost every day I look at all new messages, including this one. But sometimes it is wiser to be silent than to speak (write).

Just a polite note of caution, please avoid getting into politics.

This thread has been discussing covid-19 and its effects.

This is a world-wide issue, US politics are not part of this discussion, nor part of this forum in general. I will delete posts that break this statement.

I've chewed on this for a few days. I hope that shows my respect for your opinion. In the board preferences tab, you can have notices of new Private Messages sent to an Email inbox of your choosing. There do exist posts about missing members elsewhere. I'm convinced that my post is not pointless, just not understood. I don't care to explain it at this time, and I don't plan to discuss it any further.
I take all posting complaints seriously, and have 4 posting mentors to help if I need guidance processing advice given. I never share the name of the author of the advice message, unless it exists in a public thread. In my experience, and at least in my general opinion, posting advice is best delivered in Private Message.
Like I said, I listen to complaints and do my best not to offend anyone. But attempts at behaviour modification are usually dismissed, quickly. Just my 2ct.
Hope we are still cool, LJ. I am here to serve, and would prefer to do so with most everyone's support.
Let's please return this discussion back to the pandemic at hand. I hope everyone is healthy in every way, well informed but not paranoid, staying safe but not lonely, and able to handle the natural and artificial circumstances Corona has caused. Shannon salutes you all :hi: for carrying on here with compassion, concern, and well substantiated facts.

Total confirmed cases 14,774,887, global deaths 611,599.
Is it true, did I hear correctly, they were once offering cash money for volunteers to be infected months ago?

A few weeks ago someone was 18 years old and a few days ago someone 3 years old died of corona. These are exceptions, but you can get it as a parent. Also my Taichi teacher told of someone who got it again in a short time and said it was five times worse than the first time - and no immunity after the first time. Not to frighten you - the media is already doing that - but to take good care of yourself and your loved ones.
In Belgium, we have started a second wave with re-tightened measures and fines for non-compliance.
