Drilling out the screw body and top of the worm screw, I created an almost infinitely adjustable kind of bondage strap. Simply adjust the clamp to desired tightness, then slightly adjust to find the hole. Slide in the padlock bolt and click. Rubber strapping would work well with these, or use to supplement a leather belt. If used bare, they end up pinching under the clamp body. I recommend lots of practice before locking them on long term, as they can certainly cut off circulation and pinch nerves. Have fun!

Agree. But I trust ya'll to use caution. I recommend against using these for pressure play. Wouldn't be easy to cut the band, but the padlock should go easy enough.
The worm gear is only hollowed out at the top, the lock bolt prevents it from being unscrewed. Mine works fine. Never had one jam, if it ever did, turning the screw would eventually push the body up and away, and release the band. I use IDEAL brand clamps.

Last time I played with one of them, it caught skin and caused a graze. Which was a shame, 'cos I really like the idea of them!

I thought I would give this thread a bump, since we have new members to see it, and I have been making more of them lately. I mainly use them as handcuffs, ankle cuffs, thigh bands, and waist belts. It is easy to slip a choke type dog chain under the band before screwing down to the proper size, ( I recommend that at the least, you can easily slip a finger or 2 between the band and your body ) and snap the pad lock.
You can make them more comfortable by wearing over a leather strap, or by applying some heat shrink tubing over the band. I like the look of shiny metal.

An advantage of heatshrink tubing is that you can make it just the right length for the appendage in question so you don't overtighten the band.

Before I go any further, I should offer safety advice for the use of clamps.
-Make them no tighter than you would a pair of police handcuffs
-Wear them several times before locking. You can bend the band in strategic locations to make them quite comfortable.
-If possible, use only your fingers to tighten.
-Keep a nut driver to use to unscrew the clamp. Flat bladed screwdrivers can stab you.

Now for something truly evil. A metal gag. Using a large band clamp, and gym bag handles, I got this thing so tight, I could not get my jaw free from it. Had to open my mouth to flex my neck upwards. Maybe use boiling water to soften, then curve the handles for a more comfortable fit. Note how I hid the screw body under the rear "pillow". I could cut a slot to fit a padlock through. I only recommend this type of play for well disciplined, hard core gag users.

Tell me about it... On more than one occasion (non bondage related), I've had the opportunity to observe that those screwdrivers are real psychopaths.

I'll take Philips or Robertson any day. At least they don't try to make a psycho slasher movie out of a simple mechanical task...
