Re: Webcam
You can check out Yawcam, I mentioned it before on this forum. Along with some other capabilities it can stream out video.
You will still need to set up your router accordingly though.
Just ask if you have any issues with that.

Re: Webcam
I have a belkin n300, can you offer any tips or point me towards where to go to get the router set up?
Re: Webcam
Basically you need to do this in a couple of steps:
setup the stream:
- open yawcam
- settings, edit settings
- output - stream:
- stream type: MJPEG (highest framerate with me, may vary for you)
- default port is 8081, if you are not running any other services on that port you should be ok.
- open browser, go to http://localhost:8081
- verify if it's working
setup the port forwarding
- follow this guide http://en-us-support.belkin.com/app/ans ... -my-router
- use the following settings:
- inbound port: 8081 - 8081
- type: both
- private ip address: your computer's ip
- outbound port: 8081 - 8081
find your public ip
- visit http://whatismyipaddress.com/
To show the video stream to the viewer, let the viewer browse to: my.public.i.p:8081
Obviously I am not responsable for any security issues, your firewall settings or router behind router setup

Re: Webcam
For those of you that are using a Mac you can use EvoCam. You can enable streaming and it give you a link. Once you have the link you can allow only people with certain user names and passwords to view it, or you can open it up to anyone. It is free for 15 days then it cost 45 dollars for the program and to be able to stream. You have to buy everything with Mac's. They never have good free software but this is the easiest one I have found yet.
