Database crash

Post by anna »

The database has crashed. In short, that is a very, very bad thing. I have made several atempts to reopen the forum and this is probably the last for today. Please have a look around to see if you can break anything, find something that is missing, (sounds logical, does it not) or simply something that does not look right.

Please do not post anything important or join the forum until the current install is tested!

Big thanks to all those who helped test the previous versions. Your help has made things better. :hi:

Try to ask your provider!
Som weeks ago, i deleted the database of my forum, but my provider make every day an update, so the posts can be saved.
Eventually this do your Provider too?

greets from Germany (and this was my firs post...)

Sebastian

Edit: Database is back? Forum shows on foot 39k Posts, so i think all is ok now?

This can be a adjust thing. Have your post in this thread count?
Some forumsoftware can be adjusted, to not count post in some sections.

If the posts all here, but counts not - its not a big problem.
when all posts away - thats bad :)

The database was updated this morning just before the crash. I have just struggled with making the backed up database fit into its hole again sort of. (Irritating ISOs and UTFs and other such evil inventions. :x ) This forum is now running on the backup and it will continue to do so unless any big issues are found. It is possible though that this database will move to the old database server as I liked it for it reliability.

It should count everywhere as far as I know. Sometime it does not count for some people though. :?

Again, please do not make any serious posts until tomorrow.

The recent issues was because of another crash in another part of the database, it has been resolved and everything should be working again but please let me know of any issues and please consider the forum to remain under testing until I write otherwise.

I and a few other that has lent a supporting hand has reached the conclusion that the forum is actually running perfectly at the moment. Unfortunately the database server is not running perfectly though and this could and sometimes does cause a crash in parts of the forum database.

This forum has gone through periods like this before and they have always ended after a while, this will as well. I apologize for the inconvenience until it does.

If you get a database error, please try reloading the page.
