Collar measurements

I've been looking for a collar for a few weeks now. I keep coming across the same one showing 12mm for F, and 14mm for M. See:
8gb.jpg
I am probably not that good at translating/converting units of measurements. But what is the actual circumference of this collar? 14mm is just over half an inch, which would fit a small insect, but not someone like myself. It stands out because of the rounded edges. I don't like the blunt edged versions personally. I think I need one which is 17 inches to avoid suffocation.

Thanks.

The picture is so tiny I can't read the lettering. Are you sure it says 14mm? If it was 14cm it would be about 17" circumference. Maybe a link to the actual website so we can see the collar description would help.

Eagle Eyes to the rescue!

It's 12 cm diameter for women and 14 cm for men. That works out to collars of 15" and 17.5" respectively. Of course, people have differently sized necks so these measurements are likely to cover 95% of all cases.

Jenny.

The OP could always go to a pet store and try on a dog collar! It's a cheap way to get a strong collar, without the "fetish tax" added by a specialist retailer. The collars are intended for continuous wear (by the dog!) so will be well-made, and if intended for a bigger dog, very strong. Though try to avoid doing what I did once, the collar buckle stuck so I was in the shop aisle with a dog-collar round my neck for a couple of minutes until I released it! As it happens nobody was near to see, though if they had CCTV someone will have had a good laugh!

Otherwise look for kink suppliers - there are fetish events advertised on places like Fetlife.com with traders selling their products - most will happily sell via mail order/internet, or ask the organiser of a munch in your country/locality for recommendations, far better than just searching on EBay as you will get an honest crafts business that make their own products, often at very reasonable prices.

I'm having one now  .

Although I was a kid I still remember the late 70's in Britain and the short-lived punk era. It was totally cool to be seen wearing a collar back then. Also helped if your hair was bright green and shaped like a buzz saw blade. I liked the fashion but the music and attitude sucked.

The thumbnail which I accidentally uploaded is now a regular size image, which should re-clarify what's already been confirmed now.

What I'd like to know is how the dimensions are calculated though. It looks smaller in the preview image.

I'd never perform such actions in public, especially in Australia. I measured the neck not that long ago, and came to a conclusion regarding the desired size.

Keep in mind that if the ring hangs at an angle, for example behind the neck is 70 mm (2.76") higher than at the front of the neck, the ring has a horizontal diameter of 121 mm (4.77") instead of 140 mm ( 5.51").

All dog collars have one flaw: no one locking. Then you will need to order a custom buckle or usine a padlock thru belt holes - it will rub your neck.

Welcome back, T.
That's about 7 inches in diameter. I found a metal 5.75 inch diameter with a quick search at a collar store they are calling a "large". https://www.excitingfetishtoys.com/bdsm ... e=list&p=1 You might have to have 1 custom made, or settle for a leather. Or use my idea : viewtopic.php?f=12&t=12023
