This immediately excludes washing machine valves etc as power is required to open them. You might find more specialist vlaves that select between two outlets, normally open and normally closed, ie when the power is off the normally open outlet is "open"!
Try a NEW electric fuel tank selector valve for a 1970-1985 (years approximate) Chevy pickup truck with duel fuel tanks. The valve has 3 hose connections, one wire connection, and is intended for low pressure systems only. The valve has a common, a normally connected, and a normally disconnected port. The hose fittings are 3/8 inch barb fittings. The valve requires 12V constant to reverse the connections and is spring loaded to return to normal when power is removed. Do not even think about the 6 port fuel injected version. It requires power to switch the valve position.

Simple.
You have (Or should have) a UPS connected to your computer.
Get another one to plug your electric toys into.

I always preferred for everything to stop when the household power died.

You don't want everything to stop if the power goes out though beccuase your release is dpendent on that unless you can wire a ba k up system to Just accivatw ur release if the powe fails which is generaly a good thign

I prefer to use a holding mechanism that stops holding when the power fails. Much easier than designing a release that always has enough power to do so...

the latter ones with the would allow more support & less circulation cutoff as long as you are able to grip & pull a bit.
I have used the cuffs pictured and they are very comfortable to hang from, but I can only take it for around 5 min max, then my hands and shoulders get numb.
suggest a top to put you in suspention

Weight is a big factor. When I weighed 125lbs, it was painful but I could be suspended by my wrists at least for a few minutes. Now, pushing 175 (and a good deal older) I would probably not even attempt it.

But maybe some hot bondage that pulls me up so I have to stand on my toes....

Suspension is fantastic, but it should only be done with a top :?

It looks fine as long as your descent is slow and you use safe hand cuffs
