Rubbing Alcohol

I was wondering if Rubbing alcohol could be applied to genital areas to increase sensitivity. I understand the fact its highly flammable, but what other safety risks are there with using it? Does rubbing alcohol even cause an increase in sensitivity, or does it just burn?

From just rubbing alcohol on skin (not sensitive skin, just fingers or arms) it is quite cold. it dries faster than water/sweat and makes the skin quite cold. If that increases sensitivity...not sure.

if you are looking for something like increased circulation you
should try a rheumatism ointment.

toothpaste also has a nice effect.

Some of my facial cleaning products have alcohol in them, and can burn a bit on some sensitive areas, like around the lips, so I figure that on the genitalia, it could be interesting...

Interesting... I use toothpaste as an emergency burn treatment... I once scalded myself on an arm and hand with hot soup at work, and one of my coworkers suggested rubbing it with toothpaste. She gave me her tube of toothpaste, and I rubbed into the affected area. It immediately relieved the burning sensation, and where I fully expected a large red patch to show up later, nothing appeared!

Ointments containing menthol do have an effect, depending on your skin. Some people feel only a mild warming sensation, but I have a rather uncomfortable reaction. I once bought a "cool refreshing" shampoo that contained menthol, but in my case, it felt more like someone burning my scalp off. I did not appreciate that and returned it to the store.

So with anything you might try, I suggest you test it on a small patch of skin first, somewhere you can easily tolerate an adverse reaction just in case.

Just burn...
If you have a rash... burns alot, then, after forever, it dies down...
Adding more does not make it burn again...
Bengay, Icehot... now those will burn for a while, make sure you test first...
If you are a wimp, Vicks Vaporub will warm you up a bit...

i haven't had the balls to try any bengay on the really sensitive parts, but i had heard about the toothpaste before. it kind of works, but i recomment using the stronger kinds with tooth-whitening and the more mint the better, of course.

Alcohol tends to dehydrate the body. (this is why people get hangovers, combination of dehydration and alcohol poisoning) If you were to apply it to the genitals, I would expect dry, possibly cracked painful skin later.

alcohol would not, in any circumstance, increase sensitivity, as it may increase bloodflow to the area, but alcohol is both numbing and sterilizing, hence why its good for wiping a section of skin down with before injecting, it'd would just increase bloodflow, and maybe sting a bit and have some interesting aftereffects.

when alcohol ( or any other fluid ) dries on your skin, it takes away your body's temperature, so the body tries to increase it..
that would be "working against your health"

erm... yes. if there's a bear outside your door thats been waiting to eat your for hours, or you walk out your door naked, into a snowdrift, and collapse due to the intense cold.
