New Phenomena Relating To Pump Gag

Hi all,
Last night I experienced something I have never read or heard about while having a SB session. I had put a pump gag on with a head harness over it and was doing an improv session. Nothing strict mind you was able to adjust and release at any time. The phenomenon occurred when I found myself able to breathe in but not exhale. A most strange feeling I have to admit. I removed the head harness and gag and my muscles relaxed and everything returned to normal.

I guess, as I had never experienced this or even heard of it before, I should put it out before the community so others can identify what exactly it was I experienced, and to make others aware.

Does this happen in other circumstances? If so, I strongly suggest you consult your doctor to help find the real cause of the problem. If not, watch this carefully or even avoid this activity altogether. Something is not right and your body is sending a message.

Being able to exhale is important because you need to a) get rid of carbon dioxide and b) make room for the next lung-full of air. One kinda needs the stuff to stay conscious and alive.

Take it seriously.

You might seek the advice of an Ear/Nose/Throat specialist, or "ENT".

I get really scared when I read things like this which is why I never do anything that could mess with my breathing. You were lucky you were not under more restriction, it could have easily been the end.

Thanks to all that replied. I am in very good health and have not had anything like that happen before. I am usually pretty careful because you know, you dont get to be old by being a fool. I started with SB very young, long before there was even an internet let alone online forums so everything I've experienced has been trial and error. And now I remember why I dont do "strict" SB sessions. Play safe!!!
