My favorite release tool is a 10” long screwdriver. Only had to use it on odd occasions when I've tied my wrists crossed behind my back with tight slip knots & cinched, & the only way to get free is to work the screwdriver to loosen each loop. I personally have never had to cut any ropes, one it ruins the rope length & more importantly there is always a risk of cutting flesh or veins in the process especially when wrists are tied behind you. The screwdriver is far safer & can get under really tight rope with virtually zero chance of injury. As always know, understand your restrictions & TEST TEST TEST prior to any final session.
