With most of this type of padlock it is possible to change the combination by opening it & turning the U bar & re-setting the digits. As a precaution & prior to any final use of any of this type of lock, test them first to make sure the combination is what's expected. One of my locks was actually changed by a freak movement & it was only by chance when I came to close it, it wouldn't as one digit had changed. Now I sometimes use them on my wrist straps on each headboard post on my double bed, & if I'd have locked it without testing I would never have been able to get free.
