Another milestone 600 members :D

That's 500 new members in just over a year.

Congrats to ANNA for a very successful forum.

Hooray! You are currently reading our 6000th post! Although I do feel like I kind of wasted it by not actually saying anything about SB. Actually, you know what, I'm gonna go tie myself up for a bit just to make it all worthwhile. :D

Oops. I have no idea why I have missed to answer this before.
First of all 13 year olds are not allowed to view the forum. And keeping the spamer away is always a battle.

General spmming information:
There are two types of spammers. The first and biggest problem is the spambots. That is a fully automated software that is run by a spammer somewhere. It crawls around the Internet and looks for forums. When it have found a forum it automatically signs up by entering a username, password and email address. It then starts to post advertising, often for diet pills or viagra. Stopping these types of bots is done by modifying the joining progress and inserting some type of question that the bot does not know how to answer. Failure to answer the question means no membership, which means no possibility to post anything.

The other type of spammer is a legitimate user who “acidentaly” spam the forum without realising it. It is not always easy to know if a post is spam or not and it might depend on the person reading it. These posts are dealt with on an individual basis.
