Xtoys and wifi plugs

Post by keithhunt »

Hello

I don't suppose anybody knows of a brand of wifi plug or something similar that I can to XToys please? Failing that, is there a way to control Alexa, which can then turn the plug on\off?

Thanks

Hi, this site has a list of toys compatible with XToys and the Buttplug.io library. You can also refine the filters to find what you're looking for.

Sonoff has smart outlets that you can flash with ESPHome. Then you can easily connect them to XToys with an MQTT broker

Inside xtoys, at the top right, you can press the + button to add a control. It will show you all devices compatible with xtoys, including vibrating buttplugs.

Hello, and thanks for the warm welcome!

I've had a look at the list but I can't see anything suitable. I'm talking about something more like a socket that I can plug something into - I'd then like the option to control that within Xtoys if possible. TP Link do the kind of wifi socket I'm talking about but you either have to use their app or Amazon Alexa to control it. I guess the word plug confused things a little! Thanks.

Sorry, just to add, I've had a look in the forum and the closest I could find was some instructions for controlling an electromagnet - that talks about using an Arduino to control the power but it's a bit beyond me I'm afraid.

Shelly plugs (https://www.shelly.com/en/products/shop ... lus-plug-s)
also work really well with Xtoys in combination with an MQTT broker (such as moquitto)
