Locking things away if it is easy to retrieve the key.. You could lock the key in a strong box (small safe) and then give the key to a neighbour telling them that you are trying to save money and no matter what they are not to give you the key back until a certain date.
We have ways of making you happily suffer. You WILL enjoy yourself. That's an order.

I haven't done it...but I like the idea of mailing a key to yourself. Obviously send a copy with the original in a safe place.
