I love that idea. Imagine a group of people in the 25th century having a party and suddenly a toe appears in the centre of the room. Half the guest look puzzled until someone says "I see Jenny's on her way then, she should be here soon, she never goes anywhere without that toe".

I just thought Jenny, you'd make a good door to door sales person. You wouldn't have to put your foot in the door, you could just beam you toe straight in. Don't forget your samples case those corsets and whips will have to be demonstrated if you want a big order.

Anything I have on me or that I'm carrying goes along with me. Call it multidimensional carry-on luggage.

A whip can serve as a sensor probe. The sound of the crack can make an echo in some cases, so I can judge the size of the area I'm in even if I can't see anything.

Also, if there's a yelp of pain, it tells me there's a life form nearby.
