Bra Theory

Post by Karren »

Ok, so being an engineer and being obsessed with bras lately... and while looking some up came across this website called Bra Theory. A defunct store who made custom bras in NYC. But their website is full of awesome information..

Like which hooks to use? For well fitted bras they say....

"The loosest Hook - When you start wearing a new bra, this is a good place to start. Your bra is made up of elastics and will naturally stretch over time. To give your bra the best possible lifespan, you should start at the loosest hook and work your way towards the tightest hook as your bra stretches over time."

Makes a lot of sense! And since I bought two new Playtex 4693 bras I tried them on using the first set of hooks. My older bras I always used the tightest hooks, kind of personal preference.

Then I got off on a tangent, since I bought two bras with sister cup sized (38D and 40C) and laid them together to verify that the cups are exactly the same (see photo of the 38D over top of the 40C), the bands are different lengths by 2". They both fit perfectly. I was going to but a 36DD but they had moved the 36's or didn't carry any at Walmart. But play to buy that size soon.

One other thing, the number of clasps? No where online can I find out how may rows of clasps Playtex bras have by band, by cup. This purchase confirmed that for the 4693, the C-cup has 3 and the D-cup has 4 but i know it's not the same with other Playtex models. I have a couple 38 D-cup bras that have only 3 rows of hooks. It's really hard to even tell without pulling the bra out of the package. So anyone know of a good source of bra information? maybe we need a bra database?

And check out the https://bratheory.com/what-bra-hook/ (Bra Theory website) along with the http://bracity.com/ (Bra City website)... Never saw so many bras in one location..

It’s not bra magic, it’s bra science.
I reject your reality and substitute my own….......

If "Married with Children" programme on the television set taught me anything, is that bras are updated, discontinued, and probably go through design changes for any number of reasons. Maybe Victoria's Secret or Frederick of Hollywood might allow for more scrutinized shopping.
Bondage is like a foreign film without subtitles. Only through sharing and practice can we hope to understand.
A Jedi uses bondage for knowledge and defense, never for attack.
