Avatars neither tick nor ring.Riddle wrote:However, I have a strong aversion towards that clock type; the loud ticking bothers me and they are prone to failure when I try to hit the snooze button on top (of course I do realize that it does not have a snooze button on top but only after waking up enough to remember the clock type, by then, it is too late).
I like the ticking - I hear it and know that it's doing its job faithfully, like it has for decades. I like holding it to my ear and listening to the ticking and how it makes the bell (actually part of the body) resonate. I can doze off to that sound.
Then I wake up with a start with a ringing that can wake up the dead (there have been complaints from the local cemetery... ).
I like kinbaku's proposal.
