Leather anchor points for a new bed:

Post by Sir Cumference »

We recently changed our bed from one with posts to one without.
It is a much better bed, but the anchor points are gone!

Here is a gift for Lady C.

Leather straps with a carabiner in one end for cuffs and the like, and another set of straps with a buckle and a loop.

The loops let the straps lasso the legs on the new (post-less) bed, and due to the buckles, the straps can adapt in length to size and perverted ideas.

Just more photos.

All the stitching is “saddle stitching “ by hand.
It was real good training in starting and stopping. 24 individual sewings on the straps and a few test pieces to get it right first.

That's beautyfully executed craftsmanship.
Very nice work! 8)
Wish I had the skill and patience needed for such results!

Thanks for the nice words

Lady C was most satisfied, but it has been a busy week, and they have not been tested yet.
She has so far not given a clear answer to who is going to be tied up first.

It really isn’t that hard.

Skill comes from study and training.
Patience is easiest when you do something you find interesting.

Now it becomes almost philosophical, but I think the most important things are to do such things for the act of learning and just doing them, and “accepting imperfection”.
When learning something new, you can’t do it at first, and then you learn and train.
But too many people stop after a couple of failed attempts and never look back.

I sometimes just play with leather scraps, joining them in odd ways for no other purpose than playing and experimentation. Or chuck a piece of wood in the lathe and reduce it to shavings, playing with shapes along the way.
“Doing instead of creating a product”
When I then want to produce something, I have enough skill to get there.

But I also accept the fact, that I spread out too much to really master a subject.
