I am guessing that ri means Rhode Island, USA. I maybe incorrect though. As for me, I live in Northern Indiana close to Lake Michigan, USA (':D')

 dont get me started....frickin immigrants.....dont get me wrong Im not a racist, I just think our [uk] government is too soft to turn people back at our borders, coupled with benefits handed out left right and centre like sweets at a funfair, of course to any eastern european, the streets of england are lined with gold - literrally in some cases. Thats not what I pay my taxes for.

Jersey in the USA. Only state with 'New' in front of it that doesn't sound really stupid without the new.

Oh yes, I have the horrendous Jersey accent too. :(

Oh, don´t get me started with accents right now, my Chinese teacher is sick and the replacement teacher has such a bad accent I don´t understand a single word. How can somebody like this become a language teacher? Oo

I can understand that, we have a few Literature and English major teachers that are very hard to understand due to their foreign accents.

My boyfriend makes fun of the accent, and says things...funny (to me anyways) For example: talk, water, coffee, gaudy, quarter, quarry... anything with that ah sound becomes and aw sound... :?

...Its normal here! Its weird to talk normal....

hehe, talk.
