That was a shortcut I had so that testing I didn't need to enter my name and sex every time...
So, do you want to be a male called Stu, or do you want a fix so you can be yourself???
I'll watch for that next release ...

Actualy, the profile.txt was for later when I expand the game so that it is you and 3 friends...
In the current version (if I undid the shortcut) it would ask you for your name and which bathroom
you use...
I'll fix it so that it will read from profiles and not need to ask for your name...

OK, that is fixed, as as a bonus there is a new start... but only if you make a mistake...
I thought if this after I was doing a test and realised I OOPS'd at the start...
So I thought I would work it in as a short story... after reading it, it's not so short...

Also, edit Profile.Txt for your name and sex for the first line, and save the others for later...
Also, for those tha thing the dungeon is too hard or too easy, edit the intro.txt...

and 35 is the % chance for wandering creatures...
Highter if you want to live in the prisoner cells
and lower if you want to explore more...
There may be a few OOPS in there, just so you know...
I'm working on the encounders and the different attacks for different creatures...
As well as making 'Search' work...

Not to be mean or anything, but I think it'd depend, at least for me, on the quality of the images. I don't demand photorealism (and if I did, the response would be to just use photos), but those images would, I think, break any form of tension the game provides.

LOL... They got me giggling for sure...

If you want more humor, add stink lines over the sock drawing. And if the player's character is female, two circles under the stick figure's arms to represent boobs...

Actually, showing the charecter dressed based on the clothing would be best...
But, I recalled that I could put pictures boxes and text boxes inside of a picture box...
It was just a test... at first... then, I needed little pictures to put in the little picture boxes
and those were what I drew to test this...

I do have better pictures to use, just no bras or undies...

OK, so I did a search for 'Orcs'...
Any sugustions for something that would be closer to human in appearances???
Could look to 'furries'...

Well, you can always go with half-orcs. In DnD settings they're generally considered simple minded and barbaric, but are generally capable of living in urban areas without getting into too much trouble (as in, getting employment as a bouncer (the big guy at crappy bars that throws people out when they're too drunk or picking a fight) rather than attacking everyone it sees and getting killed within minutes of entering the town).

If that feel's like a cop out for you, some settings have a variety of types of elves. In Forgotten Realms, Wood elves are pretty wild (though too pacifistic for your purposes). There's also Drow who would probably work (they tend to be very pragmatic, and very concerned about keeping their sadistic spider goddess, Lloth/Lolth, happy). In Elder Scrolls, the Bosmer are ritually cannibalistic (Think Catholics with the Eucharist, but literal (eating flesh) rather than symbolic (eating consecrated bread). My apologies to any of you that are Catholic who take offense at this.), and they're supposed to be pretty dangerous in general (though that could just be the fear among other races of being picked to assist with the aforementioned ritual cannibalism).

I'd go with Drow (or dark elves; I'm not sure if this counts as fair use or if the term Drow is widespread enough to count as non-copyrighted). They're not quite as commonly recognized as Orcs are, but they're pretty well known among the Fantasy community, particularly the roleplaying subset thereof). The one problem is they might be a bit too sophisticated for your plans. If anything, they're more intelligent than the humans of the Forgotten Realms - calm and calculating, but taking the time to indulge in sadistic pleasure when they feel secure in their ability to do so without repercussions. Their society is strictly matriarchal (as in, they make the macho-woman depiction of amazons seem male-friendly), and their justice system is based around the principle of "if you're going to do it, don't get caught in the act." They are black skinned (as in darker than grey, not as in being of African descent, pale haired, red eyed, and are supposed to be extremely attractive (in terms of figure...though I'd probably find the armor and the <insert random medieval weapon here> moving toward my heart/brain at high speed somewhat offputting.) Oh, and they ritually hate the light and all that dwell upon the surface - particularly elves, but pretty much on general principle.

Half-orc may be the best fit, Elves are more "creatures of the woods" not caves, Drow Elves would be too ... agressive...

I was pictureing orc as being furry creatures, but I forgot by DnD training that orcs were "pig-faced"...
The first creature you come across is described as "a little bigfoot"...
When you defeat it... (if, it beat me several times, but that messes up the story line...)

"You look at the strange creature, well... it's hary... it stinks..."
"You've killed Bigfoot!!!! But then... the creature is not that big..."
"and looking at it's small feet, you don't think this is bigfoot, but it's not"
"human either..."

What would fit that description???
DnD would know "half-orcs" the general population (today) would not, and may still just call it an orc...

Maybe one can be captured by some Drow elves and taken to her as a sacrifice? Or would that be entertainment (for the goddess, of course)?
