@New members:
This area of the forum is exclusively for introducing yourself to the community. You can write something about who you are (anonymous of course), what your interests are, how long you have been interested in whatever you are interested in, how the interest started, and so on. Writing an introduction is not required but it can help you to blend into the community easier and perhaps meet a friend or two who share your interests.
@Old members:
The introduction area is for getting to know new members. You are encouraged to welcome the new members to the community and ask questions or add your own opinions where suitable.
The introduction threads should not, however, be used for discussions (use new threads for lengthy discussions) and there should be absolutely no off-topic discussion exclusively between old members. (Use PM or create a new thread in a suitable area.) These threads belong to the new members.
Show the new members some respect, joining a forum is a really big step for a lot of people.
