Sending Large Files.

Post by onestrangeguy »

I know this isn't really the place to ask this, but maybe one of you wizards can help me.
I have a rather huge (1.7 GB) power point file that I'd like to send to a friend. I've used Sendspace, but they only handle up to 300 MB. Does anyone know of anyplace else like that that will handle a really big file?
Thanks for your help.

You can create an archive using winzip or winrar and specify what size to make the segments.

I never thought of something like that.
Thanks.

It's a simple solution too.

if in future larger files need smallerizing, then try a free program like 7zip, which can compress it even further.

Actualy, let me answer my own question, for those of you who are interested.
I found a free site called bigupload which supports files up to 2 gig. :hi:

Another way, for those linux users out there, is the "split" command. This allows a file to be broken into segments of whatever size is desired. The segments are then reassembled with the "cat" command (concatenate).

another site is www.filefront.com it is free as well, however aimed towards game files, you can upload anything though and keep track of howmany times a file has been downloaded
