Finished knot may look different as i left this one loose for visibility.
Step 1. Pass the rope behind bar (or whatever)
Step 2. Loop short end under long end,
Step 3. Pull through first loop, pull tight.
Step 4. Again loop around long end, then through last loop. pull tight
Step 5. Repeat one final time, loop aroung long end. and through last loop. pull tight.
Step 6. You can now put weight on the long end of the rope. pulling the short end will completely untie rope.
Warning. unlike most quick release knots, this one wont loop around the poll when untied, so if release line is pulled while your weight is on the long end i suggest having something to land on.
remember, always test before you use it. if tied improperly it will not work.
EDIT: also i would like to suggest the use of nylon or other slick ropes, as friction can become a problem when there is weight on the line.
