Gas mask modification?

Is there any way to modify a russian gas mask so u can only breathe in and out through the hose part?

if you look down in the hose there should be 2 flaps of rubber that only allow air to flow one way. If you were to put a piece of tubing in there air will flow both ways. Or a more permanent way would be to cut them with scissors. anyone looking for gas masks cheap should check out the sportsmansguide .com

Please be aware that if you use the same tube for breathing in and out, the volume of the tube and mask becomes critical. Basically if this volume exceeds you lung volume, after 4 or 5 breaths you will start to suffocate as no fresh oxygen laden air is entering the system. Don't use a long tube.
