Gift card scam
Check the back of any gift cards you might purchase in-stores. Scammers are jotting down the numbers and waiting a while for someone to buy them, then spending the funds you would later add at the register. Look for tampering of the package, or the removal of the scratch-off covering for a secret pin number.
