You are very right. As appealing as it may seem to perform such a predicament, it is too dangerous, even if someone is nearby to help.
I experienced it myself with Hadaka Jime during the Iaido class. And by the teacher himself, who fortunately also immediately knew what to do so that I could stay alive.

I would rather make a chest harness with ropes to which I attach the 2 chains (of course I would also replace the chains with rope because they are easy to cut ) to get about the same effect. But even then it is necessary to have at least 2 people in the immediate vicinity to help if they notice that something is not right.

Do note that none of those kinds of photos are selfies.

They're staged, with a model, photographer(s), riggers, and at least one person trained in first aid or emergency care.

The model is put into the bondage, on a previously set up "stage", all the photos are taken, then she's released and if they're smart, she's given a cursory once-over to see if everything is indeed OK.

If it looks staged, it probably is. Even if it doesn't look staged, it probably is.

Keep that in mind and everybody goes home alive and with all their extremities present and intact.

Rightly so, though it really should be in a don't do this to anyone section or a Love the concept of the principle but dangerous, can someone think how to achieve this result without risking life or limb section. That could be the longest thread title on here if someone was to start it.

I suppose you could get away with calling a massive rubber dildo protruding from the bottom of the chair a simulated gear stick but when he adds chains, leather cuffs, handcuffs and various other vibrating devices it might give the game away.
