Video recording with Chromebook?

I would like to record some of my self-bondage sessions for my Lady. However the only portable device I have that's suitable for this is my chromebook (maybe I could prop my Android phone up, but the chromebook is more stable). I'm not gonna drag my mini-tower PC into the bedroom 
I would rather not stream the video to the internet, but record it to an SD card, where I can edit and send it to her.
Before I embark on a long and tedious investigation of chromebook video recording software, I'm wondering if anyone else has done the hard work and has recommendations?
