New wedge ballet-boots

My new ballet-boots from refusetobeusual.com arrived and I absolutely love them!
The lacing is hidden under the lockable zipper and there are additional lockable straps. No way to get out without the keys!

Unlike the cheap ones I had before, there's enough support for the feet, so that there isn't much pressure on the toes.
I can stand in them without my toes hurting, but now, I can't arch my feet enough to straighten my knees.

Any tips, how to train the arch??

I don't have to say more...

Just practice. When you have enough, sit down. Wait a bit before getting up again. You're trying to get some muscles to do things they're not used to doing, so it's like any other training.

And when you have them off, stretch your muscles by pointing your feet and keeping your leg straight. Limber up those muscles by rolling the ankle around. Work at it - it's the only way.

And one more thing:

(My drool buckets are getting a workout)

I agree with Jenny. Those things are gorgious. I am green with envy

Too bad I will never be able to wear ballet boots :| (broke an ankle, I'll never be able to wear anything over a 4 inch heel probably.)

If that's Wall Street speak, I'm in the wrong business  ... or Wall Street just got re-zoned (in which case occupying that would be way more fun than camping out with a bunch of stoners waiting to yell at people in suits  ).

Thanks for the tips, Jenny. (Don't worry, maid marta will empty your drool bucket... *curtsy* )
I already wore them for 7 hrs yesterday. I shifted my weight to my heels a couple of times while standing. My toes were slightly of the ground, but I was able to straighten the knees and my feet get a gentle stretch...
I'm also thinking about spicing up the training a bit with a wooden pony or some other predicament...

I haven't told her yet, but I will... She has made me enjoy cleaning, so this will be easy (for her. not for me, though)

I was still getting the same error, until I put www. in front. Apparently they don't have their DNS properly configured.

Now that I've seen their shop, holy shit those prices are high!

Seems high, but if you consider, that the shoes are made-to-measure, I think the price is reasonable.

I bought ballet boots recently too, but i can't walk with them :( Reason being that while size should be correct to my foot, the heel is a little bit too long. The toe part bends a little bit so the standing position leans forward slightly. I don't know what i expected from a cheap ebay seller anyway... Fake lock and everything.

But seeing these boots where heel is embedded to the foot, it leaves much less chance on fitting problems. Should not be an issue with balance either.

I had the same problem with my cheap pair. I fixed that by removing the little cap from the heels. There's less weight on the toes now.
The heels of the new ones are as high as the others were originally, but there's more hold for the feet and the toe-box is sturdier, so the weight is distributed over the feet.
The wide sole also helps with balancing.

Took a while to come to decision, but order is away on these in black custom color (same shop):

None of the boots i've gotten in the past have been a success. One thing these should do better is to have air flow. Rubber boots get sweaty fast and you can't wear for long. When there's no heels, it shouldn't make noise when walking and more resilient to sizing errors. Now the only problem they could have is if i ordered size too small.. but will see. Should not be. Ballet height feels like would be too much for considering more active use, and getting non-crushed toes :P

(I don't know if some of the ballet boots actually put most weight on the foot as a whole and less on toes? I'd imagine that kind of tightness in comfortable level would take high quality design, and that is not obvious at all in online shops.)

Very nice! Without heels will certainly be a challenge.
You are right about the tightness. I had most of the weight on my toes with cheap boots, but now, it's evenly distributed. I can stand in them pretty well by now as long as I can stabilize myself somewhere and I can even walk a few meters. I think, once I'm able to straighten my knees fully, standing freely will get a lot easier, too.

Hmmm... Those look unbelievably fun. I need to have some. My old PVC ballet boots have just about fallen apart, and I was never able to walk in them, they were the same story, cheaply made, the PVC is peeling off, lock strap was velcro... looking at their listings, I wish all their shoes came in size 46, I have always wanted a pair of the knee-high Converse looking ones, but they only go to 45, maybe I could squeeze in...
