Hi All sb's lovers

For the string release scene shown on the anna website, it says to make sure the weight falls slowly.

How do you do this, what is the best kind of weight

Looking for tips please

Move to a planet with weaker gravity...

OSG is right, of course...

but if you increase the friction on the string or pulleys, so there is more resistance to movement, you may be able to get the reduction in acceleration that is needed to prevent a very abrupt tug on the delicate parts! Or you could use an elastic link, perhaps a bungee cord or a thick elastic band, which would ramp up the tension as the weight falls.

I have my own orbit by now. Will try the elastic. Have either of you tried any of the scenarios shown on Anna,interested to know you thoughts if so

Hi Rack,

You could try to let the weight fall in water.
Things fall slower through water then through air.
A syrup will slow it down even more.

You could also use a bucket instead of a weight.
slowly filling up with water.

Or put the weight on a slowly deflating airmattress.
