Emailing Spam

Post by LoRee »

OK on Oct 12th I was aseemingly harmless looking piece of spam from someone here going by Angelica at; angelica@angelicadevil.com, with only this message inclosed
Hiya,

re: BoundAnna
It turns out the "Incredimail" ad offer was just dripping with spy/Ad ware. Just sending this kind of unsolicited junk (even without all the nasty cyber hitchers) to another member is clearly against the forum rules. So please adhere to the rules and . . .
DON'T DO IT!!!

I used to be the moderator of a mmorpg remember it takes 30 seconds to make a piece of email to look like it comes from some one else.
Even if you get an email from admin@boundanna.com check with the admin first. And if its fake forward it to an97an@telus.net (with subject "phishing(boundanna)" and ill make sure there booted of the net.

Yes, it is very easy to fake a return address in an email.

We recently got over 1100 :!: "delivery failed" messages in our company mailbox for e-mails we never sent.
