Rope mess

Post by Jadit »

This scenario should be simple enough. All you need for basic set is long rope and a room that gets dark.

- Have the rope 2-folded and tie the rope ends together. Leave the knot part somewhere in the middle. Make it loop around your waist and make a good knot or 2 for it.
- Prepare backup release, like scissors tied to end of another rope, which you can always reach and that will not get stuck on anything when you pull it.
- Now the idea is to tie the long rope to something solid, but using all sorts of random loopings you can or cannot imagine. Make it difficult to untie, pull the rope often from under other ropes and from between and so on.
- This would work best if you now have some lamp plugged to a timer. Making it repeatedly turn off and on for some time. Or if it's late at night you can set it with flashlight on, turn it off and throw away. Morning light would let you see again.
- If you want to make it even harder, there's a way to finish the 2-folded rope end so that it becomes "invisible". If you finish by pulling it around something that already has loops on it, and then pull from the ends, it makes it look like any other of those loops. It could be that if you do this you get stuck... unless you can memorize really well where the rope was, and depending on how well it "melded" to other loops. At least you can try to find the knot you made somewhere and untie from there.
- And you can make it harder with handcuffs, or having some locked cuffs attached to the rope too. You can have alternative release then too, if it's just cuffs instead of waist and you can after a while reach a dropped key or something. But main focus is still with the random ropes that you can't see to untie, but you can try... I think long latex gloves would make it more interesting too.
