The standard warning, when starting out with electro play is "never above the waist". This is a general guideline to help minimize risk. Above the waist may be considered "advanced play".

The primary risk people are worried about is that the current between the two electrodes may cross the heart. It really doesn't take much to disrupt normal heart beats.... and that's bad; killer bad.

There are ways to mitigate this risk; for example having bipolar contacts at each nipple. Now the current passes between the two poles on the nipple and not between nipples. The picture you linked to is _not_ such a device; each nipple tube is a single pole and so the current will pass across the chest. This is considered one of the more risky configurations.

Now I do this type of setup fairly frequently. I have a medical grade TENS unit; I attach one gel pad to each nipple and turn up the power.... ahh... nice! I did a lot of research and made the decision to try it. At the time the best source on the topic was a book called "Juice" by "Uncle Abdul" (Greenery Press. 1998). That's long out of print, unfortunately. The idea is that the body is a bad conductor and so the current tends to cross the skin and upper layers, and not really penetrate the body cavity; electricity wants to follow the path of least resistance (it doesn't all follow the same path, but the current flow drops off massively when away from the best path). It's interesting to note that the manual that came with my TENS unit didn't have any cautions around placement of the electrode pads.

BUT, and this is important, EVERY PERSON IS DIFFERENT. What works for me may _KILL_ someone else.

The type of toy you use can also impact this. I use a medical grade TENS unit. The item you showed is a very very cheap device; I would not feel comfortable with it because I wouldn't have any confidence in the quality control. It's _probably_ OK, but since you're considering very risky play I would look at devices aimed at the medical market.

I'm not going to tell you that what you want to do is safe. I'm also not going to tell you to never do it. I do advise you to do your research and go in with your eyes open. And get a better quality toy.

Here's the link, because yours didn't work: https://m.dhgate.com/product/electro-se ... 42232.html

Now, before mentioning safety, you should note that this particular device will not actually stimulate the top of the nipple, only the section around it. If you are a hard-core nipple pleasure lover, this device will not cut it. It will be felt around the nipples, but not directly on the nipples. The suction will also be felt mostly around the nipples.

Yes, of course, you will feel some stimulation on the nipple itself, but it is very different than something that touches the outside of the nipples, because then, the pain is much more concentrated to the place where it all matters. That also means, that if you want pain, you will want to crank up the electricity far higher, which will mean that you will feel it mostly on the breasts, as it has muscles, and much less on the actual nipples.

Now, keep in mind, because these are unipolar clamps, and thus, the electricity does not stay at one nipple, but goes from one to the other, the electricity flows from one nipple to the other, passing through your breasts too. As a result, the electricity will contract your breasts muscles too, meaning that the pain is not just the nipples, but your breasts too. In fact, the pain on your breasts with this toy will probably overpower the stimulation on the nipples themselves.

Now that I've said that, lets talk about safety.

As others mentioned and you have read, there are lots of warnings about electricity going through the chest. If you play safe and don't do strange things, you will be fine. TENS units are safe to use when used with common sense. I have a heart condition, and when I started to play with tens on my nipples and I felt my breasts being contracted heavily, I thought I was having problems with my heart. I now learned, that whatever my problem was, was simply due to the fact that I started to tense my muscles. My heart was never affected.

That brings me to the next point. Although the current will not go through your heart with a TENS unit that is used normally (eg not trying to short circuit/boost electricity by using 2 channels to create stimulation for 1 item.) it will affect muscles nearby. If you can't properly relax while you have heavy ESTIM going on, it may cause for a panic attack which can lead to cardiac arrest.

To explain this, we have panic buttons in our body. They're located in our chest and they get activated by tensing up with enough force. If you have a bad posture it is actually possible that you can activate the panic button by using less force in your tensing than normally would be required.

If your panic button is pressed, you will create endorphines, your heartrate will increase, your senses hightened, etc.

Normally, once the panic button is pressed once, and a panic attack is induced, the normal response is a scare response. As a result, we naturally straighten back up and the panic button is depressed.

However, if the panic button is pressed because ESTIM is forcing you in a cramped position, it is possible your panic button is not just pressed, but it is pressed and held. As a result, your heartrate will not just shoot up from 60bpm to 120bpm, but it will shoot up to 145bpm. Any effort in moving will mean that the heart will need to pump more blood than it can, and so every action that requires effort will cause the heartrate to go up where dangarous levels can be reached which eventually will stop the heart.

Unfortunately for me, I know all this from experience, although my experience is not due to ESTIM usage. I actually have a bad posture and by not having done anything about it, at some point anything that got me to cramp my muscles could induce a sustained panic attack. At first, this would last only 10 minutes, but the more serious ones I've had lasted for 4 hours or more. Imagine that you need to go to the toilet (because everything speeds up, and your body will want to get rid of stuff so you will need to pee), and just standing up instantly makes your heartrate go up to 200bpm where you feel becoming dizzy and are about to faint, so you have to sort of crawl to the toilet (or worse). Then when you finally are sitting on the toilet with a heartrate of 145bpm, and you start to pee (which takes considerable effort) and you feel your heartrate shoot up to 200 or more and you are about to faint, and all you can do is squeeze your bladder as hard as you can to stop the peeing, only so you can bring your heartrate down to 145bpm again, just to resume the process until you have emptied your bladder.

Luckily for me, once I realized my problem actually came from my posture, I got myself a back stretcher, and since I started using it, I never had a sustained panic attack anymore. In fact, I got myself an unipolar nipple suction cup from dhgate that I use regularly without any problem, and I crank this one up to the max!!!

Here's the one I have: I recommend it, although it is by far not as powerful as a barry's byte (bi-polar nipple clamps)
- https://m.dhgate.com/product/electrical ... 56694.html
I got myself 2 sets (4 cups) and that is really not a bad thing to do. They are like regular pads, but with suction, for extra effect. Although they have little sponges inside that you can or do not have to wet for interesting effect, I like it more if the pads inside them directly touch my nipples. So I remove the sponges, lick the pads, then apply them to my nipples directly. With this, the pain on my nipples is bigger, though not by much, but enough for me to like it.

You have to note that sometimes suction can escape, but it doesn't seem to be that much of an issue. If suddenly you feel electricity increase on one nipple, then its likely the suction escaped and its now lying loosely on your skin. Just press it in once more so the suction is reapplied.

I would never use any device that can send a electrical charge a cross your heart, it is very dangerous , even if china sells it I would not use it.

I was skeptical at first too, but most opinions why one would not want to do it are based on fragments of information pieced together, not actual scientific reasoning.

There's always the: better safe than sorry attitude, and although I really do agree with it, the theory on the matter says: TENS can be used on two nipples, if common sense is used. There are a few programs on my tens unit that create such a big compression wave om my breasts that I deem it not suitable this kind of stimulation, but the more gentle program settings, even cranked to max can be used. For example I concidered a normal stream of electricity on 160hz to be a no-go, as the heart may pick that up, so I started with pulses of 1hz and go a bit faster to say... 4hz, but at first I thought that was really fast. But I didn't felt any sort of problem in my heart at all, so I went higher to 20hz which feels like a constant stream of electricity, but still you can feel it goes on and off, just really fast. That felt really good, nothing on the heart at all. So I increased more. At around 60 to 80hz, I could definitely feel something, but it was just my breasts being in a continuous compressed state, not my actual heart. So I went to 160hz and it was a very strong sensation on my breasts, but again, my heart is fine. True, this setting does really strain on my spine so if I were not using my back stretcher, that definitely would trigger my panic button for sure. Now it doesn't. And with the various programs that modulate, in conjunction with those nipple suction cups, man... it feels like a hand with long finger nails is torturing the nipple. Not extremely painful, but instead of it coming in from the top, that feeling comes from the sides mostly, which is very erotic. It can feel painful, but in a good way.

If I attach my barry's byte clamps, oh, that is so much more powerful, The above I run at the max tens setting, which is 260u. While the barry's byte clamps, I have a lot of trouble getting to the max analog setting while using tens setting 115u. And every time I go higher the strength of the electricity increases, so it is more painful.

HI Slave, it sounds like you use the tens machine a lot, I don't want you to be hurt and play safe, I never tell anyone what to do, I don't want to see you hurt.

Yup, I play with the tens unit a lot. I have multiple units actually.

I used to limit my play to my groin region mostly, also because estim on my nipples often was a pretty easy orgasm. Lately I figured out, if I can survive the first 10 minutes without an orgasm (dial the unit back if I have to) then I get past the sensation that triggers an orgasm, I can then ramp up the intensity and take it full on my nipples for as much as I can bare without an orgasm, unless I ramp it up too quickly, then I can still orgasm.

Right now, I'm taking a break from estim on my nipples, because I can feel I've overdone it a bit and my skin needs to heal. I think, when the suction one got loose and I just wanted to have a bit more pain, it actually caused a 1st degree burn, so I'm letting it heal and try not to touch my nipples (which is hard)

Remeber that risk 0 doesn't exist, right?

Anyway, If you place your electrodes under the waist line, then it should be ok using a TENS unit. Unless you a very powerful device that could force you in a dangerous position because of too high muscle contractions.

Remember thought: arms are not below the waist line - if you put one electrode on your arm and the other on your leg (for example), the current will go across your heart.

TENS is safe for use above the waist but should never be used anywhere near the heart. I suffer with back pain and regularly use a TENS on my lower back above the waist.

With a pad on the arm and a pad on the leg current will only flow across the heart if the pads are on opposite sides, if they are on the same side current will take the line of least resistance straight down that side.

Do not place the electrodes on areas of the body which could harm you. You should not apply electricity to areas that are close to your heart or that are likely to be particularly sensitive. Keep them away from your:

Temples
Mouth
Eyes/Ears
Front or side of your neck near the major arteries
Spinal column (can be crossing from opposite sides of the spine though)
Left side of your chest, i.e.: near your heart
Front of your chest with one on your back
Varicose veins
Broken skin or a new scar that is still healing
Areas that are numb
