I know I have been posting here for some time, and all this time I have seen the little circle to the left of the posts in the index. Sometimes they move, sometimes there is a little star, sometimes they just sit there. What are these circles for?

Why the little circle to the left of the posts?

Re: question
The moving ones means that there is amultipage thread (most of your threads there are )
The coloured ones are when there are unread posts from the last time you visited the thread.
The one with the star is the one that I don't know what does it means

Re: question
Apparently the red star means you have made at least one post somewhere in that thread.

The circle is for a sub category...
"Software" has a sub group "developers"
"Other" has the "funny stuff"

All advice is checked, re-checked and verified to be questionable...

Red circle means new and unread posts.
Animated circle, red or otherwise, means that there's a lot of activity.
A circle with a little star inside means you posted at least once in that thread.
Circle within a circle means there's a sub-forum inside.
A circle with an "i" in it is an announcement.
A lightbulb shape is a sticky thread. That means it's always at the top of the list.
A circle with a padlock symbol means we've chained and locked up the thread creator and are having our way with him/her.
No, seriously, it means that the thread is locked and no further posts can be made to it.
Jenny.

Multipage thread.

Sticky thread whit important information that will be always on the top of the list.
Locked thread.
Thread where you have posted at least one post.
There are a lot of combinations...
