Post by speedy-j »

Is it possible to add a search feature that allows a user to look for topics that have pictures attached?

So... just what kind of pictures are you looking for????
You can look for the attachment icon on a topic...
If you are just looking for nude pictures, there is 317,256,723.457 sites for that... approximately...

to be fair... i tend to avoid topics that don't have attachments unless i am really really bored depending on which forum it is in. its not so much as a "zomg i need moar porn" thing as much as "i will never understand what they are talking about in that broken english without a picture that shows all the steps they just sort of said"

"new device i invented" in the diy forum with no attachments? skip. heh. might click just to make sure there aren't links but if i don't see the links in the skim i won't really read the text LOL.

i am such a bad socialite.

I might as well step in before this degenerates into something no one wants.

First and foremost, Anna did not write the board program, she administers (i.e. uses) it - and rather well at that. There are some features that she can activate, but they have to be part of the software to begin with. So don't be surprised if Anna answers no to some of your requests.

Sigh... I haven't made a detailed statistical analysis, but from my eye, a non-negligible proportion of the "broken english" is committed by people whose first language is English! There are some with English as a second language that write it better than some for whom it's a first language! (How about textspeak on a forum? Or those who seem to be unaware of punctuation and the carriage return key? While we're complaining... ) I agree that some non-English speakers mangle it pretty good, but they're still quite understandable if one puts an effort into trying instead of just getting impatient and grumbling over "broken english".

They try very hard to communicate in English, so why shouldn't we try harder to understand them?

It's a big world even if the Internet seems to have made it smaller.

I don't speak broken English.... My keyboard types broken Englisk...   :D :)
I agree, make a good effort to write it, I will make a good attempt to read it...
I have read read posts from some people that end it with "Sorry but English is not my language"... (or so...)
I read them and reply... "Could have fooled me, its better that some English speakers that I know..."
