List generator from multiple categories

Post by TheWingmen »

Hey so I am looking for software, an app, or a website that can create a list by pulling from multiple categories. For instance I could have one category be underwear, one be outerwear, one have different restraints, one with different positions, insertables, etc. Then the program would pull one random option from each of these to form a list (or in this case a scenario). So the finished list could be something like:
Underwear - thong
Clothing - no outer clothing
Location - bed
Restraints - leather
Position - spread eagle
Extras - gag
Insertable - large dildo
Duration - 2 hours

I hope what I'm trying to explain makes sense, if not let me know and I will try to elaborate. If you know of a program like this, or a way to do this with an existing program (like excel) please let me know! It would be a fun way to come up with spur of the moment scenarios when I happen to have free time.
Thanks in advance for any ideas, advice, options!

Take a look here: http://forum.boundanna.net/board/viewto ... =28&t=5208

That's a list of downloadable software developed by members of Bound Anna and there are two, Random Dresser and Bluelist, that may fit your bill.

And it's... erm... right in the stickies at the top of the thread list in this forum (like two lines above this one in the list - nudge-nudge... ).

This http://forum.boundanna.net/board/viewto ... =28&t=5138 would also be good to read before downloading/using the software.

Have fun and, tee-hee, let me know if you need a whipping for missing that. :whip:

But wait for me to stop laughing my ass off before asking.

The only issue though is that none of these programs seem to be Mac compatible

Mac... well then, my program is out then...
But... you did say Excel...
I have seen a "select from list" Excel sheet that does what you want...
I'm looking for it now...
All advice is checked, re-checked and verified to be questionable...
Don't ask, we both wont understand the answer...

6 categories, 100 items
Should be easy to modify...

Literally exactly what I was looking for!! Thanks a ton! Any idea how to add more categories (I don't need any more now but who knows what I'll think of to add in the future), I am not very fluent in making excel do things :P

This is a quick primer on how it works and how to modify it...
It is not my creation and I forgot where I found it, could be here...
The functions are actually very simple...
(But then again, anything you understand would make it easy to follow... :) )

-----------------------------
Generator tab:
-----------------------------
There is a "header" and "list"
There are 6 entries that link to the Categories & items tab

In order:
C2, F2, I2, L2, O2, R2
This is the first part: IE "I want you..."
These link to the cells on the second tab.

The second part, (the changing ones) is the list under that (100 items, more can be added)

That is the user interface, what you see...

Now the magic...

*** don't worry about most of this line but...
=VLOOKUP('Categories & Items'!B2,'Categories & Items'!B3:C102,2,1)
=VLOOKUP('Categories & Items'!E2,'Categories & Items'!E3:F102,2,1)
..............................^^......................^^^^^^^^^^^
B2
is a random generator based on the number of items in C2:c102 (100 items)
(11 items listed...)

B3:C102,2,1
B3 is the item

Follow the pattern and copy... it should work...

-----------------------------
Categories & items tab
-----------------------------
This has the magic of the sheet...
C2 is the text to show
B2 is the random generator box that tells the VLOOKUP what cell to read...
=INT((RAND()*((COUNTA(C1:C100)-2)+1)))+1
......................^^^^^^^...........
C1:C100 selects the list to check for entries...
Chance "C" to what list you are selecting... (C,F,I,L,O,R...)

If you don't follow this, read it again and look at the sheets again...
If you are still lost, let me know and I will try again...
All advice is checked, re-checked and verified to be questionable...

Thanks! I will give this a try at some point! Might have to read through it a few times to get it all strait but I think I'll be able to figure it out. Once again many thanks for finding this and sharing it, its exactly what I was looking for to create little simple scenarios when I can't be bothered to think too hard :o
