Concept: Spanking Machine powered by Windshield wiper motor

I was reading some old posts on spanking machines powered with a windshield wiper motor.

Although most people suggested that a wiper motor wouldn't give the satisfying swat, I wanted to revisit the idea.

People suggested Pneumatic or Solenoid methods to give a good swat.

I think a wiper motor could actually be a great idea if it had another device connected to it.

Here is my idea, use a drum foot pedal:

Drum pedals have a cam that makes the club speed up at the moment of impact.

Some of these cams are adjustable as well.

Now if you take out the club and replace it with a whip or rod.......

I believe it could be developed into a good design.

I agree, the wiper motor would not work because of the low speed...
but...
Use springs or bungee cords for the "swat",
And use a cam to pull the arm back, then trip the release for the swat...

The Robospanker uses a wiper motor to draw a paddle back against a rubber tarp strap. Reasonably effective using a light paddle, but not capable of powerful striking, although the tarp strap is at the motor's limit to draw against.

I think BTW is right about the cam action, or a form of "over-centre" action using a resilient follower - sorry I haven't the time to do drawings but I have investigated this sort of speeding-up rotation using a relatively slow rotation with a powerful motor loading some form of return-spring or cam.

A piece of "how nature does it" might give some inspiration. The flea jumps not by using a muscle in the leg, but the rapid release of an elastomeric lump situated at the hinged leg joint. The lump is squeezed and compressed by a relatively slow acting muscle, storing the energy until is is triggered.
