Home Made Leg Irons

I was curious to know what it would be like to wear old fashioned leg irons, so I had a go at making some. This is the result. I used a piece of rusty chain and some old metal on purpose. They lock with a long hex key that goes down a long thin hole. I don't think anything else would do to open them. They feel scarily secure.

I like the knackered look - just decrepit enough to give the impression that they have been used for a long time in their intended and scary purpose.

Thanks for the nice comments. As I said, I originally made them out of curiosity to see what they felt like. Actually they've had quite a bit of use since then. They are nice to wear for household chores that don't require much moving about, like ironing. I made the chain quite short so I can't run around the house. If possible, they get chained to a radiator to stop me wandering off altogether.
