DIY Spanking machine

I have longed to have some kind of spanking machine i could use while in self bondage.

Whilst playing around with a washing machine motor it occurred to me it would make the ideal basis for one.

With a small amount of junk and a £15 power supply i finally have used it for the first time.

Image

Its basically a motor with some 22mm copper pipe fittings fixed to the shaft of the motor with some jubilee clips.
I found that driving the 240v motor with 24v gave enough torque to swing a cane.

I wired a pic to drive the motor and then randomly fired the motor. :whip:

After trying it out on its own, i was confident enough to try it out while in SB last night. The result was a nice sore and red behind in addition to all the other sore parts from the session.

looks nice... but how does u make it "reset"?
has a fan with a decent motor in it i wanted to do the same with but could find out how to make it go back and forth....

I made the motor go back and forth much the same way the washing machine did.

There are four wires from the motor, two from the motor brushes and two from the field windings. By reversing the two from the brushes through a relay can make the motor go backwards.

I drove the motor forwards about 1/2 second gave a nice stroke and then reverse the motor for a few seconds at 25% duty to reset.
(all driven by computer so i could run it at random for a random number of strokes)

I will post a circuit when i get a chance.

It is looking interesting. Can we see schematics, please?

Just FYI, there was quite a bit of discussion on just this sort of thing quite some time ago. If I remember right, LJ was the primary author. You should be able to find it with a search of the site.

Well, I read all the relate history (and found much interesting ideas), but I would like to see more specific schematics. I have no problem with mechanical parts of machine, but I dont know nothing about electricity. Thats my problem.

Here's the basic schematic :

Image

I drove it from a pic microcontroller but a PC would work as well. The power is varied by varying the duty cycle to the BDX33. So a logic 1 contantly on is full power. A stream of 1's and 0's with a small time gap between is 50% power etc
Full power for 1/2 second gives a nice stroke followed by reverse for 1/2 second on 25% power to reset for the next one.

Hello :D
Im fascinated with your machine. I've wanted something like this for years. Im good with PCs and I understand programing,
but I am an amateur as far as electronics are concerned. Can I buy the electronic parts to drive this from my PC, and can
you help me to set it up ? I think I could build circuits if necessary, but I would need really basic instructions.

Thanks

You might be able to simplify it a bit with an H-Bridge. This is a MOS switch tree with direction control, some have a built in PWM (Pulse Width Modulation speed control ) function.
speed control
This one is good up to 36V and 2A (about $7 USD). The bd632x could replace the relay and the BDX33C for a motor up to 2A. (larger device needed for a larger motor)
google Rohm H-Bridge bd623x

Here is one tutorial.

Google "H Bridge" Motor
for more options.

Unfortunately i don't think the h bridge will work for me. I think it needs a dc motor - the one from the washing machine is ac (so whatever supply you give the motor - it only goes one way)

Sure , hercules1946 , if you need any further pics or help , just pm me and i'll see what i can do.

aren't you contradicting yourself here ? your diagram shows a 24vdc supply, with a relay providing the reversing ? You could use the H bridge instead of the relay.

My version was actually very crude regarding the motor, just a 12vdc motor fed from a lead-acid gel battery, a relay for direction and another for on/off. A resistor in series with the motor, shunted with a diode gave almost full speed one way, and a "creep" the other. Hall effect sensors gave the "parking" position and turned the power off at the target so the motor didn't take stall current. The complex bit was the PIC, which gave a timed waiting period at the start, then a random number of strikes with a random time separation (both with max/min limits) and a beeper just before the strike. I think I still have the source code somewhere if anyone is interested.

The machine no longer exists, and I now have the very satisfactory alternative (Lady J :-) )

As far as the paddle itself goes, I heard the best wood to use comes from a tapestry.

There was no contradiction. Ac motors will run off the dc supply , but will only run in one direction. The reason for using this motor was the extreme torque it could deliver even at low voltages. They normally run off 240v ac.(oh - plus it was free!!)
There was no need to know where the motor was at any time - it simply reversed very slowly till it reached the stop.
When striking the power was applied for only a short period ( about 1/2 sec) which was enough to hit the target without the motor running on.
As to paddles - i actually used a manufactured cane - this came with a handle which sat nicely inside the 22mm copper pipe.
