I'm not really mechanically inclined but I'm trying to come up with some kind of ratchet device that I can squeeze and it tightens a rope or belt or something.
Doesn't need to tighten a lot but I would like to be able to use one hand to tighten a belt a tad and have it stay in place.
I wouldn't mind, for a different purpose, to have an actuator or small motor that could take a signal and tighten or loosen as well but preferably inexpensive.

It might help to explain a bit more what you have in mind but for self-bondage many of us use a rope ratchet which allows you to take up a couple of feet of slack (https://www.amazon.co.uk/s/?ie=UTF8&key ... pe+ratchet), or for shorter distances would cable-ties do what you want?

Thanks for responding.
Cable ties wouldn't really work, I think.
I'm really looking for something that will let me squeeze with one hand and have it pull a few centimeters further, and lock into place.
Sort of like a cable tie but with a cable tie tool of some kind. A light one that holds on to the cable tie so that it can be left alone for a while and then squeezed to tighten it once in a while.
It's for a deep throat trainer. Belt or cable or rope around the head, and having the belt tighten forces the dildo just a little deeper.

It's not exactly a squeeze operated mechanism, but maybe it will work for you.

Looks cool but how do you tighten it?

Simply twist the knob.
Also do an image search for:
"harness welding mask"
You will find similar adjustable mechanisms.

All advice is checked, re-checked and verified to be questionable...

The cargo strap suggestion is a good one.
Lowe's or Home Depot (And other hardware stores) also carry a device called a 'Rope Ratchet'. This device comes in a number of sizes to fit the thickness of rope you will use. It's like a pulley, but only allows the rope to be pulled in one direction, locking in the other direction, unless a release lever is pressed. Do a search on this web site for posts with pictures and probably a better description.

Thanks guys.
I stopped at the store tonight and picked up a cambuckle lashing strap, which seems likely to work.
Pretty much the same as a rope ratchet, but with a strap and lighter.
