According to government statistics, more than 30 million of Indonesia’s 24.1 million people are officially poor Typical government statistics! According to the government, there are more poor people in the country that there are people! Proves that you don't need to be a rocket scientist...

Re: MagBound: Self-Bondage Electromagnet (coupon too!)
Maybe the voltage depends on the load, so the output could be up to 12V (with a bit less than 200mA) or up to 500mA (at just under 5V), or somewhere in between. At any rate, the proprietor of Selfbondage Shop must be given credit for a very straightforward answer; it sounds as if we can trust his st...

20230525_130043.jpg blink ... Input 500mA @ 5V, output 500mA @ 12V ... um, where does it get the extra 3.5W from? I'd love to say I understand much electricity related science but I don't, I know it converts 5v to 8-9v ish and that's it from a power bank through that then into magnet. Main thing is...

Sorry to be really boring, but that is almost certainly a post whose timestamp has been reset to zero in the database. Explanation: Time in Unix is measured in seconds since the "Unix epoch": 00:00 UTC on Jan 1st, 1970, which, when converted to EST (the New England time zone) is 7pm on Dec...

Yes, and it's probably the Arthur C Clarke story I'm most likely to re-read. Can you remember why you can't make good tea at high altitude - or why that is important in the plot?ponylady wrote:Btw: anybody here read "moondust" ?

There was a study done on transgender people (those who have undergone transition, mostly) some time ago, in fact two studies - the second expanded on the first to get a bigger sample size - and it seems that a small bit of brain (I remember only the medical abbreviation bstc ) is the determining f...

@querty212, Your idea of using the presence or absence of processes (with known names) on the active process list is a creative approach to inter-process communication! Your approach maps well to simple on/off states, but I don't see how it could pass non-binary info, such as a PWM command, or dist...

I voted for completing v1. Reviewing the code as you do so will remind you of lessons learned the first time around. Also, you get the satisfaction of delivering something, which for most software developers is a big boost to the motivation to continue the big project. You are doing great work here,...

Sadly, I think you will find that the distance multiplier will be less than nine due to the compressibility of air. But you can probably get by with more than an inch of travel in your source cylinder. Good luck keeping leaks down!

Hi, There is a huge amount of useful information in the DIY section of this forum, but the following tips seem relevant to your post; it seemed easier to make them here than to search for relevant threads to which to refer you. If you have a leather (or PVC) cuff that is annoyingly easy to unbuckle,...

However, would like to know how you had the physical latitude to even reach the "bedside cabinet" if you were so tightly pulled spread eagle as you said you were. I am painfully familiar with the physical restrictions and realistic limitations of both a sever posture collar and a tight sp...
