Re: A special thank you.
Thank you all for being the members that gives life to this strange software. It would be nothing without you all. There has been something going on behind the scene the last days that most of you are as unaware of as I was until I logged in today. The moderator team have, excuse the expressi...

Re: questions to admin
Thanks all.
And to the original question, I think I understand what you mean. I see it as a lifelong quest we all share, some more than other. And we might not always like what we get if we get what we want.

Re: questions to admin
you might try posting to "Site Feedback". Site Feedback is indeed the best place for such questions. Avoid personal or private question though. I also try to answer emails but those have been known to be blocked by google/yahoo or whatever email provider that is used by the sender. Merry ...

Re: Forum downtime
Anna, you're the best! :worship: You are not so bad yourself. You played a really big part in solving the issue of the missing attachments without knowing it. I found the smoking gun when I noticed that all your attachments were gone. The answer was in your user ID stating with an 8 compared with, ...

Re: Limits to file attachments
I was never discouraged from posting light hearted, humourous pictures, so I never really held back. As long as I saw no way it would offend anyone, I usually just went forth. I did not see any issue with that. That is what everything else is for. Keep it up but if possible please consider using of...

Attachments are slowly coming back now. One by one. And the thumbnails as well. All seems good.

Re: Limits to file attachments
I can prune my own attachments. I once thought they were witty, funny, and enjoyed to read, but I suppose they are harmful to the board. No, do not do that at this time. Just be mindful going forward. It is a balancing act. I would like all files to be attached but there is a limit to the resources...

Re: Limits to file attachments
In SMF, there's a setting for maintenance that automatically prunes inactive images to save space. Maybe something similar is going on here. Another good idea, thanks, but I do not think so this time. The attachments has been cut of based on the user ID of its poster. The problem seems to have been...

Re: Forum downtime
All I had to do was use FTP, and set the permissions for all files back to whatever it needed to be. 666? 777? I dunno exactly anymore. Thanks. I am aware of this possible issue but I think I have found the real issue now. Fingers crossed that this will work. The giveaway is that some members has h...

Limits to file attachments
Attention all. Attaching files to your post is a great thing that saves you from finding an external file host for important files. Do note though that you should only attach files that is of high value to the community. There is a maximum number of files that can be attached* and this could be why ...

Re: Forum downtime
I have not found any of your attachments missing Shannon. I think those missing has been deleted by their uploader but is still remembered by the forum somehow. Edit by Anna: This is incorrect. Those having lost attachments have not deleted them themselves.

Re: Forum downtime
Yet another update. I have discovered that something strange seems to have happened to the attachment folder in back in 2015 that could have "lost" some attachments. I wonder if this might have been during our last server move, a move that I was not allowed to do myself but rather was made...

Re: Forum downtime
The mystery tightens. All images that was in the original installation is indeed there*. I just checked again. But those images that are missing are also missing in the original install. The original install has not been touched at all at any time. It is exactly as it was when I disabled the board. ...
